About   EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: Sierra Leone has at present few drivers but several barriers to accelerating Self Supply. At the same time, the many small communities and plentiful availability of water are ideal conditions for it, and ones in which it is extremely difficult to provide cost effective and sustainable supplies using existing community supply strategies. It can therefore provide an essential element of coverage for marginal communities and help invigorate the rural economy, but it will take time to reach its full potential. There are considerable opportunities and challenges to the potential acceleration of self-supply in Pujehun and Kenema districts.
